How I Found Out About It
The announcement post came through the usual COBI channels, featuring a “Coming Soon” rendering and a short teaser text. Not much has been revealed yet, but the three figures speak for themselves.
The Set in Detail
Set #2066 consists of 33 pieces—enough for three tank crew figures with plenty of accessories:
- A figure in a black tank uniform with a headset and a Luger pistol—presumably the radio operator or commander.
- A second figure in a gray shirt with suspenders and camouflage pants, carrying an MP-40 and equipped with tools—looks like the unit’s mechanic.
- Plus a third figure in a green field jacket with a peaked cap, carrying two gas cans.
So there’s quite a bit in terms of accessories: the headset, tools, and canisters provide additional storytelling potential for any tank diorama.
One funny thing I noticed: All three figures have almost exactly the same face with the same grim expression—only their headgear and clothes really set them apart. A little more variety in the faces certainly wouldn’t have hurt the set.
In addition to the first rendering, there’s also a sneak peek at the packaging—it shows close-ups of the three figures against a slightly blurred tank in the background, though it’s not yet clear exactly which model that is.
My Take
A set consisting solely of figures is always a nice addition to your collection, especially if you already own one or two COBI tanks and are still missing the crew. The price and release date haven’t been announced yet, but I’ll keep you updated as always.
Which COBI tank would you pair this crew with? Feel free to let me know in the comments!
