COBI is kicking off September 2026 with several new releases and reissues. The lineup is quite diverse this time around: In addition to several historic military vehicles, there’s a new Spitfire, two versions of the Audi RS 4 B9, and a revamped reissue of an old favorite.
However, September isn’t entirely free of delays. According to COBI, low water levels on key transportation routes have also caused problems for suppliers, leading to delays in some production and delivery schedules. Among other things, this affects the two new Audi RS 4 sets as well as the previously announced tracked vehicle with trailer.
Let’s take a look at which models are scheduled to be released in September.
COBI 2681 – Kettenkrad with Trailer
The Kettenkrad is one of the most unusual vehicles of World War II—somewhere between a motorcycle and a half-track vehicle. COBI is releasing the vehicle as set number 2681 in 1:28 scale.
The model consists of 239 pieces and includes not only the actual Kettenkrad but also a trailer loaded with equipment. It also comes with a Luftwaffe figure.
The set should be of particular interest to anyone looking to expand their existing collection of historic vehicles with something a bit different from the usual tanks and military trucks.

- Set Number: 2681
- Parts: 239
- Scale: 1:28
- Availability: According to COBI, already available
COBI 2683 – T-34-85 as a 2-in-1 model
For the T-34-85, COBI has adopted a 2-in-1 concept. Using the 1,046 parts, the tank can be built as either a Polish Armed Forces version or a Red Army version.
The scale remains 1:28, making the model a good fit for many larger tank sets in the current COBI lineup.
Technically, the T-34-85 also has a lot to offer. Parts of the armor can be opened, and the turret can be removed, revealing sections of the interior. It also features a rotating turret, a movable gun barrel, and functional tracks.
Also included is a tank driver figure with two different headgear options, as well as an information panel.

- Pieces: 1,046
- Scale: 1:28
- Availability: Early September 2026
COBI 2686 – King Tiger II from the Tank Museum
The King Tiger II is likely to be one of the largest sets released in September and, at the same time, one of the most exciting new releases for military model collectors.
The model is being developed in collaboration with The Tank Museum in Bovington, UK, and is based on the Tiger II preserved there. COBI is producing the tank with 1,572 parts, also on a 1:28 scale.
In addition to the rotating turret and movable gun barrel, the model features functional tracks and removable armor panels. The engine can also be removed.
With this, COBI once again goes well beyond a mere display model and features a detailed internal structure, which has now become standard in several larger 1:28-scale models.
An information panel is also included in the set.

- Set number: 2686
- Pieces: 1,572
- Scale: 1:28
- Availability: expected mid-September 2026
COBI 24671 – Audi RS 4 B9 “Cycling Madness”
The Audi RS 4 B9 “Cycling Madness” is decidedly less military in nature.
The sport wagon is built to a 1:35 scale and consists of 176 parts. COBI recreates the RS 4’s signature wide body, including the flared wheel arches and the distinctive front end.
The real highlight, however, is the small diorama surrounding the vehicle. The set includes a figure, a bicycle, a palm tree, and even a monkey.
As a result, the RS 4 looks less like a classic car model and more like a small vacation scene—an unusual combination within COBI’s Audi series to date.
The model is produced under an official Audi license.

- Pieces: 176
- Scale: 1:35
- Availability: expected mid-September 2026
COBI 24672 – Audi RS 4 B9 Police
The second Audi in September takes a completely different direction.
COBI 24672 is also based on the 2020 model year Audi RS 4 B9, but features a design inspired by police vehicles. Important to note: This is not a replica of a standard German emergency vehicle, but rather a show car interpretation.
The model consists of 153 parts and is also released in 1:35 scale. In addition to the eye-catching color scheme, the set includes a police officer figure.
Especially when paired with the civilian version, the Police RS 4 is likely to be of interest to collectors of the now quite extensive COBI car series.

Set number: 24672
Pieces: 153
Scale: 1:35
Availability: expected mid-September 2026
COBI 2588A – The Tiger 131 Gets an Update
The Tiger 131 is anything but a stranger to COBI. Set 2588A now introduces a revised version of what is arguably the most famous surviving Tiger I. The real-life model is also on display at The Tank Museum in Bovington and is the only Tiger I still capable of driving under its own power today. COBI has revised various details for the new version.
These include a new track profile, wheels with hinted-at rubber treads, an antenna, and structural changes to the model. The removable snap-together motor and parts of the interior are also included once again.
A collector’s plaque featuring the set name and museum logo rounds out the model. For owners of an older version, it will therefore be particularly interesting to see just how significant the design differences actually are in practice.

- Set Number: 2588A
- Availability: expected by the end of September 2026
COBI 5778 – Supermarine Spitfire Mk.II
To wrap things up, COBI takes off once again.
Set number 5778 features a 1:32-scale Supermarine Spitfire Mk.II. The famous British fighter plane is rendered with historic RAF markings and includes a figure of Polish pilot Ludwik Martel.
Martel flew for the Royal Air Force during World War II, giving the model a specific historical connection.
The Spitfire features a rotating propeller, movable landing gear, and a cockpit that opens. A display stand and an information panel are also included for display purposes.
With its characteristic elliptical wings, it should also be clearly recognizable as a Spitfire at first glance.

- Set Number: 5778
- Scale: 1:32
- Availability: expected by the end of September 2026
A rather military-themed September—with two outliers
September 2026 at COBI will be clearly dominated by the Historical Collection. With the T-34-85, King Tiger II, Tiger 131, Kettenkrad, and Spitfire, several historical models are on the lineup.
The King Tiger II, in particular, is likely to be one of the month’s most eye-catching sets due to its size and detailed interior. As for the new Tiger 131, it will be interesting to see if the updates are substantial enough to entice owners of earlier versions to buy it again.
The two Audi RS 4 models provide a bit of variety. “Cycling Madness,” in particular, stands out significantly from the usual COBI car lineup with its small vacation diorama.
However, due to the previously announced production and shipping delays, the release dates mentioned should currently be considered more of a rough guide. Further delays cannot be ruled out, particularly for the sets announced for mid- and late September.
