The Dragon Balls Are Glowing: LEGO Confirms "Dragon Ball – Shenlong" (11390) for November, with Nine More Sets Coming in 2027

BloxxStar23.09.2026News

The First Set: LEGO Icons 11390 Shenlong

This is exactly the dragon the first set is supposed to feature. Rumors have been swirling for several weeks about a large display model from the LEGO Icons series. The teaser now at least confirms that the set will be released under the Icons banner.

Key details so far (based on rumors; not yet official):

  • Set number: 11390
  • Name: Shenlong (English: Shenron); the final title is still to be determined
  • Pieces: approx. 1,760 (earlier rumors also mentioned 1,764)
  • Minifigures: 1 (Son Goku)
  • Price: In the U.S., prices ranging from $180 to $199.99 are being discussed; initial reports estimate around 200 euros for Europe
  • Recommended age: 18+
  • Release: expected November 1, 2026
One dragon, one pillar, seven spheres

The model is intended to depict the moment when Shenlong rises from the collected Dragon Balls. Of course, the dragon won’t float freely in the air, as that would be virtually impossible from a structural standpoint given its size. Instead, it’s designed to coil around a large stone pillar. The entire piece stands on a black display base—a classic Icons style for the display case.

Son Goku—just like the original. The minifigure is particularly exciting. According to a leaked image, Son Goku is included—not in his familiar Dragon Ball Z version, but as young Goku from the original series. You can tell by several details:

  • Monkey tail: It’s a separate piece that clips between the torso and legs and is printed black on the front so the belt can pass through it.
  • Medium-length legs with printed blue shoes.
  • Orange-red gi from the Turtle School in the relatively new color “Reddish Orange.”
  • New hairpiece for the signature spiky hairstyle.

Goku is also sitting on his supersonic cloud, Jindujun (Kinto'un or Nimbus), and swinging his staff. He received the cloud as a gift from Master Roshi early in the story. As is well known, it carries only those with pure hearts.

The First Wave: Nine Sets in April 2027

Shenlong is just the beginning. Leakers Brick Tap and a.clay.brick have already revealed a complete Dragon Ball wave consisting of nine products for April 2027. The information comes from anonymous sources. LEGO has not yet commented on this, and there are no actual set images available yet. Unlike Shenlong, these sets are expected to focus primarily on Dragon Ball Z.

The leaked list:

  • 30755 – Polybag (name still unknown), ages 6 and up
  • 72361 – Son Goku vs. Raditz
  • 72362 – Arrival on Namek
  • 72363 – Z Fighters vs. Saiyans
  • 72364 – Porunga and the Final Battle
  • 72365 – Frieza’s Spaceship
  • 72366 – Kame House
  • 72367 – Name Still Unknown
  • 72368 – Buildable Vegeta

A quick note: In the original leaked image, 72362 appears twice, while 72363 is missing. But this is likely just a typo, since other reports clearly assign “Z Fighters vs. Saiyans” to 72363.

Kame House for Adults, Buildable Vegeta

Most sets are intended for children ages 9 and up. Two exceptions stand out: The buildable Vegeta has a recommended age of 12 and up, and Kame House is even aimed at adults. An 18+ rating usually indicates a display model rather than a play set. Roshi’s little house on the island could therefore become the second major display highlight for collectors, alongside Shenlong.

Frieza, Vegeta, and the Ginyu Force

Things get really exciting when it comes to the minifigures. Each set is said to include minifigures. Among those reportedly spotted are Son Goku, Vegeta, Frieza, and the entire Ginyu Force. Numerous new molded parts are said to be used for this. This raises hopes for a Frieza who actually looks like Frieza—and not just a standard minifigure with some printed details.

Prices for this wave haven’t been announced yet. Earlier reports from June mentioned a range equivalent to about 5 to 150 euros before taxes. At that time, however, there was also talk of a January release, so I’d take these figures with a grain of salt.

LEGO is Embracing Anime

Dragon Ball fits right in with LEGO’s current direction. With One Piece, an upcoming Yu-Gi-Oh! Ideas set, and discussions about Naruto, the company is increasingly opening up to anime licenses. Dragon Ball was just a matter of time.

My Opinion

I think LEGO is making a smart move here: first, a large display set for adult fans who grew up with Goku, followed a few months later by a full-fledged themed world with play sets. The choice of young Goku with his tail and cloud is a real nostalgic hit. The leaked lineup also looks strong: Namek, Frieza’s spaceship, and the Ginyu Force cover the Frieza Saga—which many consider the best phase of the entire series.

Hopefully, we’ll soon see in the first official images whether a coiled dragon made up of around 1,760 pieces can be elegantly rendered or if it ends up looking a bit angular. As for the price, I’m curious to see if it really stays around 200 euros.

What about you? Will you be getting Shenlong for your display case, or would you rather wait for the Kame House and the playsets coming out in April? Let me know in the comments!
