Hey guys, I’ve discovered something really exciting for you! COBI unveiled a new set from the Armed Forces series yesterday, and this time it’s all about drone technology at its finest. The set is called “Unmanned Systems” and was developed exclusively for the WB Group—a private Polish defense contractor. And here’s the kicker: You won’t be able to buy it ANYWHERE!
What’s inside?
With 475 pieces in the familiar 1:35 scale of the Armed Forces series, you’re getting a lot here. The absolute highlight for me is the launcher for the GLADIUS search-and-attack system, combined with a twin-engine FT-5 drone in the ISR configuration. On top of that, COBI throws in the FLYEYE reconnaissance drone system and the WARMATE-3 loitering munition system. And to really bring the whole thing to life, two Polish soldier figures are included.
Why You’ll Never Own This Set
As harsh as it sounds: The COBI 1459 was produced exclusively for the WB Group’s marketing purposes and will never go on regular sale. This fits in with COBI’s long tradition of exclusive sets—but in this case, it’s even more extreme than usual. Sets for, say, the Polish supermarket chain DINO, various cruise lines, or the airline LOT were at least available for purchase by select groups of people. But the Unmanned Systems set? Forget it—it remains completely under lock and key.
