Update (September 14, 2026): Two more new products have surfaced

Incidentally, it’s also becoming clear that COBI is expanding in several directions at once: If you’re looking for even more news, the article about the first officially licensed COBI Toyota model offers another exciting piece of this current wave of announcements —it features the Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 Expedition, marking COBI’s first official entry into the Toyota licensing program.

COBI 2686 – Tiger II King Tiger (KTV2)

Following the new Tiger I (2677), COBI is immediately following up with another heavy tank—this time from its collaboration with The Tank Museum.

With 1,575 parts on a 1:28 scale, the Tiger II King Tiger (KTV2) recreates a very special vehicle: the “V2” prototype, which was built in December 1943 as only the second Tiger II ever produced and was never deployed on the front lines. It is now considered the world’s oldest surviving King Tiger and is part of the collection at The Tank Museum in Bovington.

Unlike the new Tiger I, this set does not include a minifigure, but it does come with a display sign for the shelf. Features include a rotating turret, a movable gun barrel, movable road wheels, and functional tracks—all important markings are applied using pad printing instead of stickers, as is customary with COBI.

This round of announcements brings two new heavy tanks to the 1:28 tank series: the Tiger I (2677) and this special Tiger II.

COBI 2067 – Behind Enemy Lines

Significantly smaller, but no less interesting, is the new “Behind Enemy Lines” figure set from the Historical Collection WWII.

According to the labeling, this is also still a pre-production render, so the final set’s appearance may still change. With 47 pieces, it’s clearly designed as an accessory or diorama expansion.

Included are two figures—a soldier with an assault rifle and an officer figure with a pistol and saber—as well as a motorcycle and a horse with a saddle. The mix of motorized and mounted equipment suggests that the set is specifically intended for diorama builders who want to create varied scenes behind the front lines.

Together with the sets already listed—and the Toyota debut mentioned in the separate news item—this makes it even clearer just how broad COBI’s lineup is this time around: from small figure additions to two new heavy tanks in 1:28 collector scale, all the way to the completely new Toyota license.
